Valles Caldera

Thousands of volcanoes erupted throughout the western U.S. in the last 60 million years, but most individual craters are too small to show up clearly in the tapestry. Among the larger volcanoes is Valles Caldera (a beige and yellow patch in the northwest Rio Grande Rift).
